Studying Geography helps students understand the physical and human environment, including landforms, climate, natural resources, population and human activities. It develops important skills such as map reading, observation, research, analysis and problem-solving. Geography also enables students to understand environmental challenges such as climate change, pollution, erosion and deforestation, while encouraging responsible use and conservation of natural resources. The study of Geography prepares students for careers in areas such as environmental management, surveying, urban planning, tourism, meteorology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), while helping them develop a better understanding of their community, country and the world.
